“I would venture to say that Mt Lookout Chiropractic is one of the most high-functioning businesses in the city. It is truly a place of healing and a center of wellness such that you will notice this the moment you step in the door.
From my first experience as a new patient to my occasional appointments three years later I still feel like I am treated with the greatest courtesy and concern for my condition and everyone who works there seems to be happy. They truly go the extra mile! Going in when you are hurt always feels like coming home. Even my 8-year-old son looks forward to his time there!” Jennifer B. Fairfax, OH
Chiropractic Adjustment or Manipulation
The chiropractic adjustment or manipulation refers to a technique that restores motion in a joint that is fixated or not moving properly. Our hands-on treatment will help the mobility of the targeted joints, relaxation of the surrounding musculature, and pain relief.
We have tailored treatments for infants, children, adults, and geriatric patients, including light gentle maneuvers for all ages. We consider each patient’s unique characteristics and create the optimal chiropractic treatment for them.
Other techniques used by the chiropractors at Mt. Lookout Chiropractic and Sports Injury Center:
- Rehabilitation to help build strength and stability to treat your pain and help prevent future injuries. Much of our rehabilitation therapy is based on the principles of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization or DNS (The Prague School of Rehabilitation). Dr. Jason Placeway is Cincinnati’s only chiropractor who is practitioner certified in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization. He finished his certification in 2015 at the Prague School of Rehabilitation. Dr. Mark King, Dr. Jessica Kowalski, and Dr. Will Cornett are also DNS exercise training certified practitioners.
- Soft tissue or myofascial release techniques treat the affected soft tissue including muscle, tendon, and ligament dysfunction. This helps reduce tissue tightness, scar tissue, and adhesions, and increase circulation to speed healing. Dr. Will Cornett and Dr. Paul Bowen are both full body ART (Active Release Technique) certified providers.
- Instrument-assisted soft tissue treatment is another soft-tissue technique used by the chiropractors at Mt. Lookout Chiropractic. Dr. Eric Eiselt, Dr. Paul Bowen, Dr. Mark King, Dr. Steve King, and Dr. Donna Moloney have all taken courses on the Graston Technique. Dr. Will Cornett and Dr. Jessica Kowalski are both certified in ConnecTX which is a similar technique.
- Dry Needling is a subcategory of Western Medical Acupuncture. It refers to entering a thin filament needle into the skin, fascia, tendon, ligament, or muscle. This needle creates a specific microtrauma to the tissue to induce a mini-inflammatory response which in turn stimulates the healing of the injured or painful tissue. Dry needling is a very useful tool in treating sports injuries such as tennis/ golfers elbow, knee pain, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, and more. Dr. Will Cornett, Dr. Jessica Kowalski, Dr. Jason Placeway, and Dr. Paul Bowen are all certified and practice dry needling.
